Eating and Living With Grace

More important than what you eat is HOW you eat it. How would you feel if you were a sheep who was pushed down a ramp, injected with chemicals, killed in front of your friends and family as if it were nothing and then hung upside-down to cure? Before you bite into your meat, pay it some respect. Honor it and thank it for its life. It’s that simple.

The same goes for vegetables and the same goes for life; SAY GRACE J Remember when eating used to be a holey act? When families would gather and give thanks before their meal? This needs to continue today. Not because of religion but because of respect. It’s not what we do, but how we do it, that matters.

Are we respectful of those around us with our choices? Do others have a choice? What would it look like if we asked our horses if they wanted to be ridden? What would it look like if we asked animals if they wanted to be killed? Would we all become vegetarians? I am not a vegetarian. But what I know is that we must start to become more respectful AS BEINGS. Say, “thank you” when you eat. Say thank you to the animals. Say thank you to your partners. Say thank you to your children. Say thank you to yourself. Praise life!

It’s not what we do but how we do it. Energy IS everything. It’s okay to break-up with a friend or partner. But how do you do it? Do you do it with kindness and respect or with a total lack of awareness for the other person? It’s okay to kill an animal, but how do you do it? Do you honor their life? How do I know that it is okay to kill an animal? Because there are no rules to life. There is no judgment other than the judgment that we procure. And we must only do what our internal guidance believes is right. And that may change from moment to moment!

What goes around comes around. And so it is to our benefit to move from our center in a balanced and respectful way. If it is respectful to others than it is respectful to yourself. And if it feels respectful to you then you are doing your best. This is self-love.
