Meditate daily for one hour. This is a quiet meditation not energy work. You may balance yourself, center, ground then be still. You may say you name to yourself reconfirming who you are. You may smile and say a positive affirmation such as, "I am good, I am god." Feel your body fill with light. Blog about what you experience in your meditation.
Watch the movie called, "The Connection." This is mandatory. It can be streamed for $10 or you can buy the DVD. Or it is free if you have a Food Matters membership, which I recommend. This film is a keeper and could be shared with friends. Blog about your comments about the movie. Buy or stream the movie here: https://www.theconnection.tv/store/
Loved the documentary movie,’ The Connection.’ I streamed it, but will, as you suggest, Robin, get a copy for my own movie library. Besides featuring some of my favorite authors, whose books I have — Bernie Siegel, Jon Kabat-Zin, Andrew Weil — it makes a solid scientific case on the importance of the mind and one’s belief system with the physical body – the mind/body connection. I am still meditating 30 minutes morning, 30 minutes evening, which is easier on my body, since I like to sit on a meditation cushion, and easier to somehow fit in my day. I love doing it, and appreciate the incentive here through homework.
I likes the movie too. It is so amazing that science is getting to prove how stress is that cause of all diseases and how meditation is quite the solution to a lot of problems!! The last few days I have a lot of going on and meditating is really helping to bring clarity and relaxation into my day. Im still on 20 minutes 3 times a day. My body is telling me when its time to meditate. It happen every time I’m a bit tired. It feel like meditation is way more renjuvinating than a nap. I know 1 hour would be better because it would take me deeper, but when I try I still fall asleep.
I really enjoyed the movie — I purchased the DVD and intend to ask my whole family watch it. It didn’t occur to me to break up the meditation iinto different segments during the day, so I will try that. The increased meditation time is providing more clarity — i feel more grounded and loved.
